The Climate Crisis is a symptom
Why we want to build
Reuse: Creativity lies in the constraints
So we exist in a perpetual state of anxiety. The planet is overheating but more electric cars will save us (and if not, those that can afford can always relocate to higher ground). We can't afford to pay rent, but at least we're building empty luxury flats for investment.
It seems to us there's some room to question the status quo. And this is why we want to build.
We want projects to be positive, useful acts. We want projects to work for people and planet. We want to create projects that take risks but feel right. When structural engineers are creating assets for investment..... The built environment builds assets for investment. Why do we keep on like nothing has happened?
